Story Cafe

Story Cafe is a home-grown, itinerant, crowdsourced spoken word series. Designed as a precursor to Sabhagar Theatre Festival 2017. this was the first ever story telling festival for youth in Kolkata : a combination of showcase artists and amateurs: Poetry, readings, story telling, original music. The Festival held over 2 weekends in November 2017 across popular cafes of the city :

There was an online open call to artists. Our Team of curators then designed and curated the line up for each café basis demographics and choices suitable to the café. The Line up would be a mix of amateurs and experienced artists. We also added a guest showcase artist for each café for more excitement. All StoryCafe sessions also had a live art corner with a live portrait artist and a poet.Also on the counter was the Saintbrush zine. Collaborators for the spoken word series were Sunny Kumar, Gulshanara Khatun, Reya Ahmed, Saintbrush and ArtBeat.
