The Park Hotel, Chennai Golden Jubilee Celebrations

THE Park Hotels brought its year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations to The Park Chennai on Friday. This celebration, hosted by Priya Paul, Chairperson Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd., was a night of glitz and glamour which set a new benchmark on all counts, right from the décor to the food and the entertainment.

The event was attended by the who’s who of Chennai from renowned designers like Rehane, Vivek Karunakaran & Sidney Sladen to patrons and well-wishers like Minnie Menon, Ranvir Shah and Vidya Singh to name a few.

The design theme of the event was woven around the idea of ‘Anything But Ordinary’. The exaggerated trumpets, a dominant feature of the lobby, were inspired by the legacy of Gemini Studio and its famous logo of the twins with trumpets.

The menu was especially curated for the evening and included an eclectic mix of differentiated culinary creations and signature dishes from across THE Park Hotels kitchens. The exhaustive food displays artistically spanned the food and beverage outlets in the hotel. From caviar and truffles to burrata racks, seafood bars, donut walls and dessert sandwiches – there was something for everyone.

The mood for the occasion was set by the catchy renditions from a London-based swing band to India’s most noted Western musician and a variety of enthralling international entertainment routines, like aerial silk acrobatics and contemporary belly dancing among others. The party continued into the wee hours of the morning with the after party at Pasha and The Leather Bar.

Artsforward worked in collaboration with scenographer Swarup Dutta to execute the thematic event decor. From technicals to florals, from prints to pastings, from intallations to transformations, the metamorphosis of the space to Anything but Ordinary was our focus.
